What is CTE?
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Model Curriculum Standards are designed to assist California districts and schools in developing high-quality curriculum and instruction to help ensure that students are career and college ready and to prepare them for future careers. The standards are rigorous, evidence-based, relevant, and reasonable in scope. They offer clear guidelines for course content development and expectations for student achievement.
Lancaster High School offers coursework that aligns with two pathways in the Information and Communication Technologies Industry Sector:
Information Support and Services
Software and Systems Development
This PDF outlines the requirements set forth to be considered a CTE pathway. You might notice a requirement to collaborate with the local industry and community. This is intended to keep course content relevant and applicable.
California CTE facilitates education in 15 industry sectors.
Curriculum standards for all four of the Information and Communication Technology pathways can be found in this PDF
